The Connecting Box can be used for reduction of the size in the machine - Usually the basic drawing have a fixed dimension from the top of the tamper head to the bottom side of the shoes. This dimension is "important" - so the brushes on the filling box are able to clean the shoes every cycle while filling the concrete in the mould.
Most machines are building up for the mould height 500mm - so if using paver moulds - have a need to compensate the difference with a huge tamper head. This is a cost driver - especially for moulds like MASA having expensive turning parts on the tamper head. If using just a "small" tamper head box with "Long" plunger instead - have a huge risk for welding cracks when using this version for paver production.
You don’t need to get always the "big box" on the tamper head - just assemble the connecting box to reduce cost and store place as you can see in the pictures below. The height of the box (usually 200/300/400mm) and can be used for mould height to approx.300mm. depend of customers details of mould and machine.
At least - you should have two boxes for every size. Assembling time is less than 30 min and can done easily in the mould preparing area.
You must take care of the torque.
